Knee Deep Travels

Travelling Oz in our caravan, just taking it all in

Family time with the Schwartz’s

Brisbane – oh how we love you.

Leaving Mullumbimby was, you guessed it, wet!

Although we did discover a bonus CD that’s been in the caravan since we bought it (without us knowing). Kids are getting a good music foundation 🎵

The trip was wet and miserable until we passed the Goldy, thankfully it cleared after that.

We set up camp at Brisbane Holiday Village which would be our base for the next three days. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s a good clean spot with lots to do for the kids.

The rest of the day consisted of a visit from Locky, Clare and Amy plus a spot of shopping to find gumboots and slippers for Matilda. Then dinner with Tash, Michael and the delightful Oliver (at which we obs talked to much and got no photos 😥)

The next day we took a mini road trip to Redcliff – it was so nice to explore places Garth and I hadn’t been in years.

The day consisted of playground hopping for Emily, fish and chips from Yabby Road (complete with Beatles memorabilia and some very English sides), secondhand book scores from a little free library and an awesome bookstore and finally some family time with a visit to Ian and Gitte’s and then a big family dinner with the Schwartz’s.

The park 2mins away was so busy – this one we had to ourselves!

Luckily we had time to head back to the van before dinner as Matilda had spent the entire day in her slippers (or bare feet). Seems being a little cranky when leaving for the day makes you forget to change your shoes – a lesson she won’t forget in a while 😂

The cousins

Day three was more family time back at Gitte and Ian’s with the crew, followed by a quiet night back at the van park – Locky came back to visit and the girls enjoyed a free movie (Christopher Robin – such a sweet movie 🥰) and popcorn in the park restaurant.

We’re excited to move on tomorrow but also could have spent another week here just soaking up time with those we love.

We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands we explore and pay our respects to the elders past, present and emerging.

We left Bundjalung country, travelling to, and resting on Yuggera country for three nights.
